JT: Month Seven Photos

I was able to get to these much faster than last month.  This was a pretty busy month as you can tell by the description of the photo album!  [Facebook viewers be sure to click the "View Original Post" link to view the album]

At Jack T's 6-month appointment, he weighed 16 lbs 14 oz and was 26.5 in long. He started drinking formula mixed in with his bottles of Mommy's milk as well as started on some baby foods closer to the 7-month mark. Jack has been showing more and more signs that he's ready to start crawling as he will spend good amounts of his tummy time “swimming” as well as spinning himself around in circles and rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. The beginning of July saw him able to sit up in a tripod position, and after just a couple of weeks, he was balancing very well on his own when placed in a sitting up position. While he's not fully mobile yet, he can definitely get himself around on his playmat and has started reaching for larger nearby objects like his exersaucer and the coffee table. He got to see his best friend Ben get baptised, spend an afternoon playing at the park by the lake, and got several new age-appropriate toys!

Rhys The T-Baller

I had been wanting to make it to one of Rhys's t-ball games all summer, and finally, Mary, Jack T & I made it to one!  It was a good thing, too, as it was his last game of the year.  Mary, Jack T and I joined my dad (Jack 2.0), my sister Liz and her family (G, Carys, and Alys) at Little Cubs Field in Humboldt Park to cheer Rhys on.

JT: Month Six Photos

Here are some photos from Jack T's sixth month.  I'm a little behind on these photos, as he'll be 7 months old in just three days...crazy how time flies!!

Jack T turned 6 months old on July 13! He has mastered rolling over, got really good at holding himself up on his arms while on his tummy, and started to spin himself around a bit. He also started eating rice cereal and has gotten very good at it. Aside from his 6-month birthday, he also celebrated his first Father's Day, first 4th of July and got to spend time with lots of family and friends!

City Stuff

For a while now, Mary and I have wanted to take advantage of living in the city.  Especially while we live so close to so many fun things.  I think so many Chicagoans take so many of Chicago's offerings for granted.  Yesterday, we took advantage of living near Lake Michigan and decided to spend some time on the lake front.  Of course, we weren't the only people who wanted to take advantage of the awesome weather we had yesterday.  We ended up driving through Lincoln Park north for a ways up through Montrose Beach until we finally found a parking spot at Foster Beach.  After that, it was a short walk to a nice semi-shady spot looking out at the lake.  We had lunch and played with Jack T in the fresh air.  Bentley also got to romp around a bit.  We spent about two hours just relaxing and taking in the moments.  It was exactly what we wanted!

Of course, we took a few pictures :)

Jack Thomas Is Six Months Old!

On the 13th, our baby boy, Jack Thomas, turned six months old!  Ok, I know it's not like he had his first birthday or anything, but we just can't believe how fast that happened.  Every day is a little more exciting than the last.  He has been rolling over from back to front a lot (though hasn't quite mastered front to back).  While this is great, he seems especially prone to spitting up when he rolls over after a meal.  He's also kicking his legs a lot either when on his tummy or when being held with his legs free.  About a month ago, he was babbling quite a bit.  That slowed down when he started rolling over, but it has started to pick up again.  He's doing some baby pushups while on his tummy and grabbing for toys a lot.

We started him on rice cereal a few weeks ago.  We haven't been giving him much, only about an ounce of milk and a tablespoon of cereal, but he has been doing pretty good with it.  He just had his six month appointment with the doctor.  He's around the 50th percentile in both height and weight (which is a slight decrease from the last few appointments) at 16 lbs 12 oz and 26.5" long.  We also got the all clear to start in on some baby food.

I don't know exactly how many pictures and videos we've taken of him, but a rough estimate puts the picture count at approximately 3500.  That averages almost 20 pictures a day since he was born.  That's not too many, right?!  If you know me, you know I love taking and having pictures!  Here are a few from when we had both sets of Grandparents and Great Grandma Lu over on Tuesday for a mini celebration.
