One Year Ago

Today brings back a lot of memories for me. One year ago today was the day that Jack proposed to me at the Planetarium and what started a whirlwind year for us.  Gosh, it is hard to believe that in the past 365 days, we were able to accomplish all that we did.  In looking back, it started with the engagement, but then led to a birthday/engagement outing with friends, tickets to Phantom of the Opera for my birthday, Christmas with family, New Years with friends and the crazy road of wedding planning.  And if that wasn't enough for us, we each fund raised $1800 and walked 39 miles in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

There have been many highs this year - our wedding obviously, purchasing our first home, and unfortunately some lows in the passing on of some family members and various illnesses for those that are close to us, but it is great to look back now and say that we accomplished it all -- that despite the numerous breakdowns I had, the times where I didn't think we'd get it all done -- we made it!  But I am not foolish enough to think that we are superheros and did it all.  A huge thank you to our parents, friends and family for being there at each turn of the way this year.  We could not have done it without you and I am unbelievably grateful to you all.

I look forward to what is to come for us and getting to return the favor to all of you - to get to be there for you just like you were for us.  And thanks to my now husband, for making this an unforgettable year!

You're welcome. It's always a pleasure to help people that really appreciate it, like you two. It was a goofy and fun year and it just flew by. Only the beginning of many warm and happy times to come. We love you both and look forward to seeing you at Christmas! Oh, remember to keep watering that tree and give Bentley a big hug from the mother-in-law. He's family now, too.

Oh that's right, I have step grand nephew dog, give him a Milkbone from his great Aunt Lorrie. And for Mom S., you are step grandma to Bentley, since he was born before Mary and Jack got married. But I guess I shouldn't be so technical just before Christmas. You're right, it has been a wonderful year. We were lucky enough to all get together for not just one wedding, but two!! Here's wishing you a Merry Christmas and many Happy New Years to come. When's the honeymoon???? Love, Aunt Lorrie

What a great year it was. Have not had one packed with soooo much stuff. The wonderful announcement of your engagement and how happy it made you, made mom and I very happy as well. Meeting Jack's parents was terrific. What a great pair they are. The planning, with the luck and hard work was a thrill to be a part of. The trip to Spokane with the breakdown of our car turned out to be one we will enjoy remembering, especially the time in the Tetons and Yellowstone on the way back. The wedding itself, perfect planning and execution, what a great weekend with all the family and friends in for it. As we get ready to celebrate the coming Christmas holidays, I look forward to the many good times ahead for both of you.
