Relief!
This was not necessarily a horrible week, but it was a rough one and I am more than relieved to know that it is officially Friday and I am 10 minutes away from leaving the office. After working feverishly on our department's budget for the last 3 days and staying late 2 nights in a row, only to have one days worth of budget entries be wiped out of our system and all need to be re-entered, I am ready to leave the office behind for a couple days. Not to mention all the other mishaps from this week. I told Jack that I felt a little mentally "beat up" this week, and despite the fact that I tried, I really did, to stay positive, I eventually just accepted the fact that this was just not going to be my week, so I tried to "Grin and bear it" as my mom used to tell me and tried to remember her other favorite phrase, "This too shall pass". Jack was a good sport though last night after another tough day. He went to the produce market with me (and he doesn't really like to grocery shop), we made pizza for dinner, and he let me watch my super-girly shows that we saved on our DVR.
Today, thankfully, has gone pretty well. I finished my budget stuff (and it was a good thing since it was due today!), took a quick trip to Starbucks on my lunch to get some of the nice fresh, spring air we have today, along with a vanilla chai. Life just seems so much better some days with my favorite Starbucks drink. Hopefully this means the bad stuff is behind me for the week and that only good things are in store for the weekend.
I have a few fun things going on this weekend. It looks like Jack and I will be heading out to dinner tonight with some friends, although the place is still TBD. I am going to a rooftop Cubs game tomorrow for a friend's bachelorette outing and then have my good friend, Kristen's, wedding shower on Sunday that my mom and I will both be attending. I am so excited to celebrate this occasion with her. I had such a great time at my wedding showers that I hope she enjoys these moments and is able to tuck away all these happy memories.
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!
